The great Mosque of Hagia Sophia is here captured on the canvas by Al-Jadar. The humid mediterranean climate of Turkey felt in the image by the atmospheric distortion that the sky and clouds have. The colors are lush greens, milky blues and terracotta. The architectural mammoth takes precedence in the painting and gives a sense of grandeur to the work.
