Description
In this minimal composition, by Mukhallad Al-Mukhtar, a singular butterfly decorated in primary colors floats above a stenciled background. The positive space of the stenciled layer is made up of faded purples, yellows, and reds while the negative space is a pale gray. The familiar shapes of inanimate objects, animals, and humans can be seen in this enlarged version of Al-Mukhtar’s popular motif.
