Composition with multiple patterns and colors

This complicated composition by Faraj Abbu defies simple description as manifestations of line and shape are pushed into ever more intricate combinations. The color palette of this work ranges from cool blues to vibrant reds. The focal point of the piece appears to be a roundel located off center to the right. This medallion, outlined in yellow with a center of pale red, draws the viewer’s eye as the only section of the composition not swallowed in activity.
