Subject
Portrait of a woman, frontal and three-quarter
Description
This surreal portrait, by Suad al Attar, focuses on the visage of a young woman from both a frontal and three-quarter vantage point. The figure is rendered through the use of outline and shading. Undulating lines flow outward from the woman’s face giving movement to the hair. On the ground plane of the composition a faded flower is seen with its pedals budding outwards. The color scheme of the piece is monochromatic centering on varying yellow tonalities.
