Abstracted scene with simplified figures

The abstracted nature of this scene, painted by Asim Abdelameer, makes it difficult to pinpoint a subject matter or cohesive narrative. Yet, the composition is not devoid of representational figures. A simplified human form lays outstretched at the bottom of the canvas while two window-like squares frame the outlines of individual faces. A ladder delineates a man-made structure while the branches and trunks of two stripped trees seemed to be turned upside-down.
