Multilayered composition with woman in white dress

This painting, by Mahoud Ahmad, is composed of many different figures, in various states, overlapped to create a chaotic rendering of space and time. To the left, the face of a weeping woman is overlaid with a man in fatigues who crouches with his face in his hands. On the opposite side stern faces accompany a swordsman on a white horse. All of this activity centers around a woman in a glowing white dress holding a lantern.
