The majority of this composition is taken up with the color-stratified background vacant of representational forms. In contrast to this is the highly detailed vignette located towards the bottom of the canvas. Here is a representation of an ambiguous figure, with a dove, cloaked in an intricately patterned textile standing in front of a doorway. A long pike draws the viewer’s eye upwards into the pinks, purples, and blues of the background.
