Abstraction with central black smear and crack

In this abstract composition, Shakir Hassan Al Said draws the viewer’s eye to a central black smear that fades out into the white background; a few smears can be faintly seen in this outer white area. Down the center of the frame there exists a deep fissure as a crack travels from the uppermost portion of the composition reducing in size until it reaches the opposite side as a mere scratch.
