Abstraction with script and holes

In this abstracted composition, by Shakir Hassan Al Said, script appears throughout the blackened and washed out surface. Two arrows on either side of the composition direct the viewer’s eye over and up, while the writing fades in and out of the background. An uneven application of black and white is supplemented through the use of scattered oranges and blues. A jagged form cutting horizontally across the picture plane contains within it holes of various sizes.
