Multilayered work with singed edges

Here, Shakir Hassan Al Said has created a composition of layered components not contained within a traditional frame. At various points the edges of the components undulate organically with rips and singes; other times the edges form straight lines outlining rectangular protuberances. The color formations of greens and earthy reds appear like stains upon the multiple surfaces, as they are not contained within a delineated color field but fade into one another.
