Reclining Nude on Red Carpet

Here Al-Qaddo has rendered a familiar subject in the realm of artistic representation, the reclining nude. Again the artist has combined the dimensions with the flatness of the carpet and background coupled with the round fleshiness of the nude. This combination taken with the contortion of the female’s legs and uneven dappling of warm color tones belies the reality of this representation and adds a mythical quality to the composition.
