Subject
Saber with calligraphic shield
Description
A saber cuts diagonally across this composition. This angularity of line is contrasted with the circular shape of the shield that lies atop the sword. Upon the shield is a pattern of calligraphic text arranged in concentric circles around a central turquoise marking. Framing the sword and shield combination is a series of golden starbursts aligned with the blade and hilt of the saber. Contained within the outer lying area of the composition are three medallions.
